On-Column Solvent Exchange for Purified Preparative Fractions
JALA: Journal of the Association for Laboratory Automation, 2011On-column solvent exchange, using many of the principles of solid-phase extraction, has been implemented to significantly reduce evaporation cycle time following reverse-phase preparative HPLC. Additional benefits, such as a reduced potential for salt formation, thermal decomposition, and residual solvent, are also described.

Polyisobutylene: fractional precipitation from binary solvent induced by non-solvent addition
Polymer, 1981Abstract Large fractions of polyisobutylene chains may be obtained from precipitation induced by acetone added to solutions of polymer in a binary mixture (chloroform and dichloromethane). Fractions were characterized by weight average molecular weights, M w , and average radii of gyration, R 2 G , obtained from light ...

Fractionation - With or without Solvent?
Fette, Seifen, Anstrichmittel, 1986By studying fractionation as a separation process it is possible to highlight a number of key features of the process. Although the partition of specific glycerides between liquid and solid phase is the foundation upon which the process rests, the entrainment in the subsequent liquid-solid separation dominates the overall effectiveness of the process ...

Mesophase formation in coal liquid solvent fractions
Carbon, 1983Abstract The single greatest influence on the mesophase microstructure is the chemical composition of the organic precursor. The effects of oxygen content and structural parameters of precursors from solvent fractions of coal liquefaction products on the microstructure and pyrolysis yields were determined.

Spectroscopic investigations of solvent-refined coal fractions
Fuel, 1980Abstract The chemical characteristics of Amax solvent-refined coal are investigated on a molecular size and component basis. Gel permeation chromatography (g.p.c.) is used to characterize the tetrahydrofuran-soluble portion of the SRC and to obtain the molecular size distributions, and is also used as a preanalysis step, in which fractions are ...

Solvent-based fractionation of lignosulfonates
2023Lignosulfonates, i.e. technical lignins derived from the sulphite process, suffer from high heterogeneity. With the aim of obtaining materials with more homogeneous and defined characteristics, this contribution focuses on lignosulfonate fractionation, specifically by applying sequential solvent extraction (SSE) to softwood and hardwood lignosulfonate ...

Fractionation of humic acid by organic solvents
Soil Science and Plant Nutrition, 1961Abstract TJURIN (1) had proposed the use of organic solvent to fractionate humus. In his method, he extracted soils with benzene-alcohol (1 : 1) mixture in the SOXHLET's apparatus. The extract was dried at 80°C and weighed.

COMPOSITION OF SOLVENT‐FRACTIONATED RICE BRAN OIL
Journal of Food Lipids, 2006ABSTRACT Rice bran oil was acetone fractionated at low temperature. Two methods, independent fractionation (−8, −14 and −35C) and sequential fractionation (0, −8 and −14C), were compared for the preparation of triacylglycerol (TG) fraction‐enriched unsaturated fatty acids (UFAs).

Separation of Paraffin Wax Using Solvent Fractionation
Petroleum Science and Technology, 2008Abstract In order to separate and characterize some grades of paraffin waxes from El-Ameria crude waxes (slack waxes), a one-stage fractional crystallization technique has been done to separate the paraffin waxes with different characteristics by using different solvents and solvent mixtures at ambient temperature of 20°C and fixed dilution and washing

Solvent extract liquefaction of coal with fractionated anthracene oil and recycle solvent
Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 1987To estimate a solvent ability for coal liquefaction, 26 kinds of anthracene oils with widely ranging characteristics were used for Yallourn and Taiheiyo coal liquefactions. Hydrogen contents of solvents were correlated well with Yallourn coal conversion having a large coefficient of correlation (0.90), whereas less value was obtained for Taiheiyo coal (
