Gas-phase solvolysis type reactions of SiCl3+ cations [PDF]
Gas-phase SiCl3+ ions undergo sequential solvolysis type reactions with water, methanol, ammonia, methylamine and propylene. Studies carried out in a Fourier Transform mass spectrometer reveal that these reactions are facile at 10-8 Torr and give rise to

Product Scope and Reactivity in Hydrothermal Conversion of Polyethylene With Solid Catalysts
The addition of solid catalysts to the hydrothermal conversion of polyethylene increases the conversion and promotes the formation of naphtha‐like compounds when using CeO2, and aromatic compounds when using aluminosilicates. The reusability of these catalyst materials was demonstrated as they retained catalytic activity upon reuse.
