A unified 3D reconstruction of microscopy and MRI in a brain showing Alzheimer's disease‐related neuropathology

open access: yesBrain Pathology, Volume 36, Issue 2, March 2026.
Post mortem MRI was combined with neuropathological assessments at 600 μm intervals throughout the brain. Through this approach, a three dimensional account of an entire human brain with an intermediate Alzheimer's disease neuropathologic change was created.

3D imaging of neuronal inclusions and protein aggregates in human neurodegeneration by multiscale x‐ray phase‐contrast tomography

open access: yesBrain Pathology, Volume 36, Issue 2, March 2026.
x‐ray phase‐contrast tomography enabled three‐dimensional, label‐free visualization and quantification of protein aggregates in neurodegenerative diseases with isotropic submicrometer resolution. The study revealed distinct electron density patterns in Lewy bodies, Hirano bodies, granulovacuolar degeneration, and amyloid plaques, highlighting their ...

A Mixed Methods Analysis of Factors That Influence the Diet Quality and Decision‐Making of Adolescent Girls in an Urban Informal Settlement in Kenya

open access: yesMaternal &Child Nutrition, Volume 22, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Due to the nutrition transition, adolescent diets globally appear to be shifting to increased consumption of fast foods and snacks high in sodium, added sugar, and saturated fat. In urban informal settlements in Kenya, limited evidence suggests adolescents consume 1–2 meals per day, have low dietary diversity, and consume foods from roadside ...

Direct Evidence for the Role of Silver(I) Salts in Promoting the Oxidative Addition Step in Palladium‐Catalyzed C−H Arylation Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 3, 3 February 2026.
The exact role of silver salts, a commonly used additive in Pd‐catalyzed C−H arylation reactions with aryl halides, has been widely questioned. In this work, we provide direct experimental evidence that, in addition to being a halogen scavenger, silver can also promote the oxidative addition step.
