An Injection‐Molded Modified Silicone Rubber for Cancer‐on‐Chip Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 10, Issue 6, March 18, 2025.
This study describes the characterization and application of an injection‐molded functionalized PDMS fluidic insert for the commercially available Micronit system. Modified PDMS can accommodate cell culture and is able to covalently bind proteins for long‐lasting coatings under flow‐conditions.

Self‐Assembly of a Tripodal Terpyridine Based Ligand with Luminescent Lanthanide Ions in Solution and Soft Material

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 13, Issue 8, March 13, 2025.
The tripodal terpyridine‐1,3,5‐benzene tricarboxamide (BTA) ligand 1 is employed in the self‐assembly formation of novel luminescent materials using a range of lanthanide ions. In the polar protic solution, the results from the photophysical measurements are assessed using nonlinear regression analysis, while the functional material properties of the ...

Group Delay Dispersion Measurements on Mid‐Infrared Supermirrors

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Group delay dispersion of novel semiconductor‐based optics is measured in the mid‐infrared spectral range (2.5 to 4.8 μm$\rm \umu{\rm m}$). Comparisons are made between simulations, measurements conducted with a home‐built white light interferometer, and measurements performed with a commercially available FTIR.

Polar Indirect Valley as a Limiting Factor for Radiative Efficiency in Gold‐Based Mixed‐Valence Double Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This work addresses a common issue in many double perovskites: their weak luminescence. Using the example of promising infrared‐bandgap mixed‐valence gold halide double perovskites, it demonstrates strong polar electron‐phonon coupling. Temperature‐dependent spectroscopy reveals that bright polarons are favored at low temperature, while a dark low ...

NIR‐Harvesting Upconversion CsPbI3 Perovskite Solar Cells with Dye‐Hybridized Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
To enhance solar energy conversion efficiency, dye‐sensitized upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) with CsPbBr3 shell layers are developed and integrated them into lead halide perovskite solar cells. These UCNPs convert near‐infrared (NIR) light into visible light, enabling the utilization of a broader solar spectrum, thereby increasing photocurrent ...

Origin of Ultraviolet‐Induced High‐Temperature Photovoltaic Response at Pt/Gd‐Doped CeO2 Interface

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Oxygen uptake induced by UV irradiation generates an oxygen chemical potential gradient across acceptor‐doped ceria at high temperatures. Besides the photovoltage caused by band bending at the heterojunction interface, the observed voltage can also be attributed to the Nernst voltage arising from the oxygen potential gradient.

Linker‐Free Covalent DNA Functionalization of Quantum‐Grade Nanodiamonds

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Nanodiamond (ND) surface is terminated with azide groups via nucleophilic substitution and decarboxylative azidation. The resulting azidated NDs display high click reactivity while retaining the spin and charge properties of nitrogen‐vacancy centers.

TVB C++: A Fast and Flexible Back‐End for The Virtual Brain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TVB C++ is a streamlined and fast C++ Back‐End for The Virtual Brain (TVB), designed to make it as flexible as TVB, and FAST. Another pillar is to be fully compatible with TVB so easy bindings can be created from Python. Users can easily configure TVB C++ to execute the same code but with enhanced performance and parallelism.
