Genetic correlations among somatic cell scores, productive life, and type traits from the United States and udder health measures from Denmark and Sweden [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Sire genetic evaluations for protein yield, somatic cell score (SCS), productive life, and udder type traits from the US were correlated with sire evaluations for udder health from Denmark and Sweden and then the correlations were adjusted for accuracies

Seasonal Changes in Bulk Tank Milk Composition of Dairy Cows

open access: yesScientific Papers Animal Science and Biotechnologies, 2023
A study was conducted to determine the effect of season on milk fat, protein, solids nonfat, freezing point and bulk tank somatic cell count of diary farm in Dolj district. Collection of data was from April to September 2010. Statistical technicques were

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

New markers of bulk milk quality in relation to mastitis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
All dairy processors depend on a continuous supply of high-quality bulk milk from milk producers to be able to distribute liquid milk and dairy products.

Change in composition and quality of milk as a function of volume of production, year period and milking systems and cooling

open access: yesSemina: Ciências Agrárias, 2015
Aimed to evaluate the effect of three volumes monthly milk sales, months of year, types of coolers and milking systems on the freezing point of milk, fat percentage, somatic cell count (SCC) and bacterial count Total (CBT) milk come from producers that ...

Ontario Bulk Milk Somatic Cell Count Reduction Program. 2. Dynamics of Bulk Milk Somatic Cell Counts

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1992
The objective of this study was to study the dynamics of bulk milk SCC in order to assist the individual farmer and the dairy industry to lower farm and population SCC. Data on milk quality, milk components, and kilograms of milk produced were collected monthly from January 1985 through September 1991 on approximately 9500 farms in the province of ...

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

INFLUENCE OF SOMATIC CELL COUNT IN THE COMPOSITION OF GIROLANDO COW’S MILK IN TROPICAL ZONE

open access: yesTropical and Subtropical Agroecosystems, 2016
Bovine mastitis has been identified as the main disease affecting dairy cattle worldwide. Somatic Cell Count (SCC) in milk is one of the most important indicators to evaluate the udder health of cows due to the high direct correlation with the mammary ...

Somatic Cells Count in Cow’s Bulk Tank Milk

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Medical Science, 2012
The objective of this study was therefore to present factors affecting somatic cell counts in bovine bulk milk as a result of intramammary infections as well as non-infectious factors. The paper presents also the impact of on-farm management practices on the level of bulk milk somatic cell counts and presents quality indicators in bulk tank milk.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...
