The association between herd- and cow-level factors and somatic cell count of Irish dairy cows [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
peer-reviewedSomatic cell count (SCC) is an indicator of both udder health and milk quality and is measured at an animal level through national milk recording schemes.

Effects of somatic cell count in subclinical mastitis on raw milk quality in dairy farms of Khuzestan province [PDF]

open access: yesĀsīb/shināsī-i Darmāngāhī-i Dāmpizishkī, 2016
Mastitis is an infectious disease that is spread in livestock and can cause cattle mortality. Generally a cow with mastitis has a 15 per cent decrease in milk production.

RESEARCHES REGARDING COW-MILK’S QUALITY OBTAINED IN THREE FARMS FORM ALBA COUNTY

open access: yesScientific Papers Animal Science and Biotechnologies, 2023
In the selection process, along with the milk quantity obtained from an animal, an important part is the milk quality, which has a big influence in the recalculated milk quantity and also in its nutritive, energetic and biological value which the milk ...

Relationships Between Somatic Cell Counts and Milk Production

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1984
The relationship between Dairy Herd Improvement program test-day milk yield and somatic cell counts in milk was analyzed in 34 dairy herds over 3 yr. Estimates of this relationship were more accurate when somatic cell counts were transformed to natural logarithms rather than actual. For 67,707 observations, test-day milk yield decreased with increasing

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Performance of four modern whole genome amplification methods for copy number variant detection in single cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Whole genome amplification (WGA) has become an invaluable tool to perform copy number variation (CNV) detection in single, or a limited number of cells.

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Herd Composite Somatic Cell Counts: Average Linear Score and Weighted Average Somatic Cell Count Score and Milk Production

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1988
The relationship between herd production weighted average somatic cell count (average of somatic cell count weighted by individual cow milk production) and average linear score (average of individual cow linear score somatic cell counts) was investigated using three models.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.
