The human gut microbiome across the life course
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Effect of weather conditions on somatic cell score in Sicilian Valle del Belice ewes
Mastitis susceptibility of Valle del Belice ewes from the south of Sicily to temperature, humidity, precipitation, solar radiation, sun hours, air pressure, wind-speed and wind-direction measured by a public weather station was investigated using 65,848 ...

Genetic Analysis of Somatic Cell Scores in US Holsteins with a Bayesian Mixture Model [PDF]
The objective of this study was to apply finite mixture models to field data for somatic cell scores (SCS) for estimation of genetic parameters. Data were approximately 170,000 test-day records for SCS from first-parity Holstein cows in Wisconsin. Five different models of increasing level of complexity were fitted.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

INFLUENCE OF SOMATIC CELL COUNT IN THE COMPOSITION OF GIROLANDO COW’S MILK IN TROPICAL ZONE
Bovine mastitis has been identified as the main disease affecting dairy cattle worldwide. Somatic Cell Count (SCC) in milk is one of the most important indicators to evaluate the udder health of cows due to the high direct correlation with the mammary ...

Relationship between Somatic Cell Counts, Mastitis and Milk Quality in Ettawah Grade and PESA Goats
Mastitis is a bacterial disease that leads to increased somatic cell counts and reduced milk quality in dairy goats. Reduction in quality is manifested through a reduction in fat, protein, lactose content and an increase in milk somatic cell counts and ...

SOMATIC CELL SCORE IN BULK TANK MILK IN THE STATE OF PARANÁ
