Evidence of somatic embryogenesis from root tip explants of the rattan Calamus manan [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Somatic embryogenesis of #Calamus manan#, a single-stemmed rattan species, in tissue culture was scientifically demonstrated for the first time. Root tips of #in vitro# plantlets produced friable callus when the explants were cultivated for several mo ...

Embryonic proteins in somatic embryos of carrot [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1981
The translational profile of cultured carrot cells (callus) was compared with that of the somatic embryos derived from them. The two tissues synthesize almost the same number and kinds of polypeptides except for two “embryonic” proteins. These were found in the somatic embryos but were nearly undetectable in the callus.

In vitro testing of defense reactions in zygotic and somatic embryos of Abies numidica

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2011
Defense of desiccated cotyledonary somatic embryos and mature zygotic embryos of Abies numidica was tested in vitro by dual cultures with tester, fungus Phaeolus schweinitzii.

The consequences of nuclear transfer for mammalian foetal development and offspring survival : a mitochondrial DNA perspective [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Review of the articleThe introduction of nuclear transfer (NT) and other technologies that involve embryo reconstruction require us to reinvestigate patterns of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) transmission, transcription and replication.

Rhizobium Lipooligosaccharides Rescue a Carrot Somatic Embryo Mutant. [PDF]

open access: yesThe Plant Cell, 1993
At a nonpermissive temperature, somatic embryos of the temperature-sensitive (ts) carrot cell mutant ts11 only proceed beyond the globular embryo stage in the presence of medium conditioned by wild-type embryos. The causative component in the conditioned medium has previously been identified as a 32-kD acidic endochitinase.

Programmed cell death and genetic stability in conifer embryogenesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Somatic embryogenesis, the generation of embryos from somatic cells, is a valuable tool for studying embryology. In addition, somatic embryos can be used for large-scale vegetative propagation, an application of great interest for forestry.

Tissue culture of oil palm : finding the balance between mass propagation and somaclonal variation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is typically propagated in vitro by indirect somatic embryogenesis, a process in which somatic cells of an explant of choice are, via an intermediate phase of callus growth, induced to differentiate into somatic ...

Feasibility and Safety of High‐Dose Proton Re‐Irradiation in Recurrent Pediatric Central Nervous System Tumors: A Single‐Institution Retrospective Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Pediatric central nervous system (CNS) tumors often recur despite multimodality therapy. Although re‐irradiation (re‐RT) has historically been limited by concerns for severe late toxicities, modern techniques have renewed interest in this approach. Proton therapy provides dosimetric advantages that may enable curative re‐treatment with

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Micropropagation of lettuce americana via somatic embryogenesis [PDF]

open access: yesCiência Rural
: This research evaluated the effect of light and the auxin naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) on the induction of somatic embryogenesis, and of activated carbon (CA) and polyethylene glycol (PEG) on the maturation of somatic embryos of Lactuca sativa.
