Effect of a virtual walking and therapeutic exercise‐based intervention on gait and balance in people with incomplete spinal cord injury

open access: yesPM&R, EarlyView.
Abstract Background People with spinal cord injury (SCI) experience sensory and motor impairments that often require exercise‐based treatments. However, these interventions are challenging due to limited active mobility. Novel rehabilitation approaches, such as those targeting the mirror neuron system, could offer additional benefits.

Predictability of obstructive sleep apnea with a somesthetic screening score: Development and preliminary validation in a prospective study

open access: yesSleep Research, EarlyView.
This prospective study developed a two‐step clinical scoring system for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) screening based on patients’ somesthetic perception of oropharyngeal airflow. The Intermediate Score (IS ≥ 7.5) achieved 73% sensitivity and 77% specificity (AUC = 0.7754; OR = 8.96).

Brain‐Inspired Neuromorphic Device for Artificial Intelligent Robots Applications

open access: yesSmartBot, EarlyView.
Brain‐inspired neuromorphic devices mimic biological systems to provide an efficient hardware foundation for embodied intelligent robotics. This review explores the material systems and corresponding computing architectures of neuromorphic devices that support low‐power perception, adaptive learning, and real‐time decision‐making.

Self‐Driven Hybrid Piezomagnetic–Iontronic Mechanoreceptors for Bimodal SA/RA Perception and Tactile Synthesis

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A bimodal mechanoreceptor, integrating a piezomagnetic elastomer and an ion gel, simultaneously and independently transduces external mechanical stimuli into independent slow‐adapting signals for static pressure and rapid‐adapting signals for dynamic vibration.

Sensory profile of cats with potential pain‐related diabetic neuropathy

open access: yesVeterinary Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Diabetes mellitus (DM) can cause peripheral neuropathy. This study aimed to evaluate sensory function by measuring the mechanical nociceptive thresholds (MNT) and diffuse noxious inhibitory control (DNIC) of cats with diabetes mellitus (DMcats).
