Neurophysiological correlates of the rubber hand illusion in late evoked and alpha/beta band activity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The rubber hand illusion (RHI) allows insights into how the brain resolves conflicting multisensory information regarding body position and ownership. Previous neuroimaging studies have reported a variety of neurophysiological correlates of illusory hand

Prediction of good functional recovery after stroke based on combined motor and somatosensory evoked potential findings.

open access: yesJournal of Rehabilitation Medicine, 2010
OBJECTIVE To delineate whether functional recovery after stroke, determined by the modified Rankin Scale during the neurologically stable chronic stage, is associated with the presence or absence of motor evoked potential or somatosensory evoked ...

The homuncular jigsaw: investigations of phantom limb and body awareness following brachial plexus block or avulsion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Many neuropsychological theories agree that the brain maintains a relatively persistent representation of one's own body, as indicated by vivid "phantom" experiences.

The Case of a 28‐Year‐Old Woman With Medically Refractory Focal Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We present the case of a 28‐year‐old right‐handed woman with medically refractory focal epilepsy. Her seizure semiology and electroencephalography (EEG) indicated a seizure onset zone in the right central‐parietal area. However, both MRI and PET scans were unremarkable, showing no focal lesions or areas of altered metabolism.

Clinically Relevant Outcome Measures in Women With Adrenoleukodystrophy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Adrenoleukodystrophy is a rare inherited peroxisomal disease caused by pathogenic variants in the ABCD1 gene located on the X chromosome. Although the most severe central nervous system and adrenal complications typically affect only men with adrenoleukodystrophy, the majority of women develop myeloneuropathy symptoms in adulthood.
