Mathematical and chemistry properties of geometry-based invariants

open access: yes, 2022
Recently, based on elementary geometry, Gutman proposed several geometry-based invariants (i.e., $SO$, $SO_{1}$, $SO_{2}$, $SO_{3}$, $SO_{4}$, $SO_{5}$, $SO_{6}$). The Sombor index was defined as $SO(G)=\sum\limits_{uv\in E(G)}\sqrt{d_{u}^{2}+d_{v}^{2}}$,

Sombor indices–back to geometry

open access: yesOpen Journal of Discrete Applied Mathematics, 2022
The Sombor index (\(SO\)) is a vertex-degree-based graph invariant, defined as the sum over all pairs of adjacent vertices of \(\sqrt{d_i^2+d_j^2}\), where \(d_i\) is the degree of the \(i\)-th vertex. It has been conceived using geometric considerations. Numerous researches of \(SO\) that followed, ignored its geometric origin.

Analysis of Spatio‐Temporal Characteristics of Drought in Serbia From 1961 to 2020 Using SPI and SPEI

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, Volume 45, Issue 7, 15 June 2025.
The duration and severity of drought were determined and the trend of the indices for different accumulation periods, for 3 months (SPI3 and SPEI3), 6 months (SPI6 and SPEI6) and 12 months (SPI12 and SPEI12) were analyzed for 10 meteorological stations in Serbia in the period 1961–2020.

The Sombor Index (Coindex) and Lanzhou Index (Coindex) of Some Graphs

open access: yesAxioms
In this paper, motivated by the recently introduced topological indices—the Sombor index, Sombor coindex, and Lanzhou index, we define a new index—the Lanzhou coindex of a graph.

More on Sombor Index of Graphs

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
Recently, a novel degree-based molecular structure descriptor, called Sombor index was introduced. Let G=(V(G),E(G)) be a graph. Then, the Sombor index of G is defined as SO(G)=∑uv∈E(G)dG2(u)+dG2(v). In this paper, we give some lemmas that can be used to

Harmonic–Arithmetic Index for the Generalized Mycielskian Graphs and Graphenes With Curvilinear Regression Models of Benzenoid Hydrocarbons

open access: yesComputational and Mathematical Methods, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
The generalized Mycielskian graphs are known for their advantageous properties employed in interconnection networks in parallel computing to provide efficient and optimized network solutions. This paper focuses on investigating the bounds and computation of the harmonic–arithmetic index of the generalized Mycielskian graph of path graph, cycle graph ...

On relationship between reformulated Sombor and other vertex--degree indices [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions on Combinatorics
Let $G=(V,E)$, $V=\{v_1, v_2,\ldots,v_n\}$, $E=\{e_1, e_2,\ldots,e_m\}$, be a simple connected graph with $n\ge 2$ vertices and $m$ edges, with vertex degree sequence $\Delta=d_1\ge d_2\ge \cdots \ge d_n=\delta$, $ d_i=d(v_i)$, and edge degree sequence $\

ANALYSIS OF A NON-SUPERCELL TORNADO IN SOMBOR ON JULY 10, 2014 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Around 14:00 UTC, on July 10, 2014 a non-supercell tornado-a landspout, formed and occurred within a convective cloudiness in the S-SW upper air flow and moved over Sombor (45°46' N, 19°06' E, h=89 m).

Sombor indices of Silicon Carbide Graphs

open access: yes, 2022
Using inequalities is a good way of studying topological indices. Chemical graph theory is one of the nontrivial applications of graph theory. In this paper, we examine and calculate another degree-based topological index for silicon-carbide structures. The Sombor index, which is a degree-based index, was introduced by Gutman in late 2020.
