Structural and thermodynamic analyses of a novel β‐1,2‐glucan binding mode in the ABC transporter solute‐binding protein Chy400_4166 from Chloroflexus aurantiacus

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Cyclic β‐1,2‐glucan (CβG)‐associated solute‐binding protein of type I ABC transporter was originally identified in Chloroflexus aurantiacus, a phototrophic bacterium. Crystal structures in complex with CβGs revealed unique binding modes that are fundamentally distinct from that of the short β‐1,2‐glucooligosaccharides‐binding protein.

Wee1 kinase differentially regulates maize CDKA2;1a and CDKB1;1

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
In eukaryotes, Wee1 kinase inhibits the kinase activity of CDK/Cyc complexes through phosphorylation of a conserved residue in the CDK moiety. Wee1 is also present in plants, but has been scarcely studied. We have studied maize Wee1 regulation of CDKA/CycD2;2a or CDKB/CycD2;2a complexes.

Impact of reduced sonic boom exposure on psychophysical and cognitive performance for simulated booms presented in a realistic indoor environment

open access: yesActa Acustica
This study aimed to quantify, in situations representative of the daily life of European citizens, the effects of sonic boom exposure on human responses, in the case of a new generation of supersonic commercial aircraft that should emit a reduced ...

Serotypic and Genomic Diversity of Vibrio anguillarum in Rainbow Trout Farms in Turkey: Implications for Vibriosis Control and Vaccine Candidate Selection

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Outbreaks of vibriosis caused by Vibrio anguillarum are a persistent constraint on rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) aquaculture. However, information on the population structure of field strains in Turkey has been lacking. Here, we report the first systematic serotypic, proteomic, and genomic characterization of 23 V.

Impact of reduced sonic boom exposure on introspective judgments and annoyance, pleasantness and loudness ratings for simulated booms presented in a realistic indoor environment

open access: yesActa Acustica
This paper reports on a project that quantified the effects of sonic boom exposure on human responses, in situations representative of the daily life of European citizens, to inform policy, and develop protection concepts for a new generation of ...

Transcriptional adapter ADA2 regulates yield and end‐use quality through liquid–liquid phase separation in wheat

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
The transcriptional adapter ADA2 interacts with the histone acetyltransferase GCN5 to regulate starch and storage protein content in wheat grains through histone acetylation. ADA2 undergoes phase separation and is modulated by GCN5, affecting histone acetyltransferase activity and gene transcription.

Organizational Soundscapes and the Sonicity of Voices: The Power of the ‘Sounds’ that Carry ‘Words’

open access: yesJournal of Management Studies, EarlyView.
Abstract Organizations are soundscapes – they resonate with sounds and particularly the sounds of voices. Somehow however voice sonics, that is the sounds of voices and not the words carried on those sounds, have escaped attention in management studies. This absence of analysis is peculiar given voice sonics' undoubted influence on management (they may

Design Guidelines for Supersonic Aircrafts in Civil Aviation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aviation, Aeronautics, and Aerospace, 2019
There exists no publication currently available to the scholars that address in detail, every aspect of designing a modern supersonic aircraft for civil aviation. This paper aims to resolve that issue.
