Chiral Porphyrin Monolayers on Ferromagnetic Thin Films: Ultrafast Spectroscopy of Hybrid Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 33, 4 September 2026.
Chiral porphyrin–oligopeptide monolayers covalently bound to Au‐capped Co/Ni multilayers form surface‐parallel J‐type aggregates and exhibit measurable singlet‐state transient absorption despite monolayer coverage. Femtosecond pump–probe spectroscopy reveals strong excited‐state quenching at the metal interface, yet no long‐lived charge‐transfer ...

Hemopexin Purification From Human Cohn Fraction IV Paste and Its Biophysical Characterization and Functional Evaluation in Sickle Cell Disease Mice

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, Volume 123, Issue 9, Page 2229-2237, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Hemopexin (Hpx) is an acute phase plasma protein that is responsible for sequestration and removal of cell‐free heme with very high affinity (Kd < 1 pM). Hpx expression in liver cells is induced following an inflammatory event such as severe hemolysis. Therefore, plasma Hpx has potential clinical relevance due to its' ability to bind free heme,

Selective Formation of 1:1 Dyads of a Saddle‐Distorted Sn(IV)‐Porphyrin as an Acceptor With Donor Molecules as Axial Ligands for Photoinduced Electron Transfer

open access: yesChemPhotoChem, Volume 10, Issue 9, September 2026.
We have revealed that a novel 1:1 complex can be selectively formed with a saddle‐distorted SnIV‐dodecaphenylporphyrin, SnIV(DPP), and sterically hindered p‐ferrocenylbenzoate derivatives as electron donors and axial ligands. In the complex, the SnIV(DPP) unit works as an electron acceptor in photoinduced electron transfer, in contrast to the previous ...

Thermal Behavior of Radiative Darcy–Forchheimer Nanofluid Flow With Heat Source/Sink Effects

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
Radiative Darcy–Forchheimer nanofluid flow in a porous medium is numerically analyzed with heat source/sink effects. Radiation enhances heat transfer and boundary layer thickness, while increasing Forchheimer resistance suppresses velocity, providing insights for optimizing thermal management in high‐temperature porous systems.

Effect of HBr on Explosion Limits of Stoichiometric Hydrogen‐oxygen Mixture

open access: yesInternational Journal of Chemical Kinetics, Volume 58, Issue 9, Page 646-657, September 2026.
ABSTRACT This work, based on numerical simulations, discusses the effect of HBr as an inhibitor on the explosion limit of stoichiometric hydrogen‐oxygen gas mixture in a closed spherical vessel. The numerical simulation solves the complete governing equations for mass, momentum, species and energy.

Influence of heme and pH on the oligomeric states of Brucella melitensis bacterioferritin

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section D, Volume 82, Issue 9, Page 1062-1071, September 2026.
The oligomerization of B. melitensis bacterioferritin (BmBfr) was studied using X‐ray crystallography, size‐exclusion chromatography and thermal shift analysis. These techniques allowed the characterization of both apo and holo BmBfr, highlighting the impact of heme and pH on the oligomerization mechanism.Bacterioferritin from Brucella melitensis ...

(Ultra)high‐Pressure Metamorphism in Sedimentary Versus Basaltic Rocks: Insights From a Variscan Mélange in the South Carpathians

open access: yesJournal of Metamorphic Geology, Volume 44, Issue 8, Page 585-610, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Reconstructing the pressure–temperature–time (P–T–t) evolution of (ultra)high‐pressure rocks is essential for constraining subduction and collisional dynamics. Subduction zones are often investigated using basic eclogites, whereas nonbasic high‐pressure rocks remain comparatively understudied, potentially hindering a comprehensive ...

Eco‐Friendly Synthesis of Cobalt Phthalocyanine for High‐Efficiency CO2${\rm CO}_{2}$ Electroreduction

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 29, 7 August 2026.
A sustainable synthesis of cobalt phthalocyanine (CoPc) using low‐impact solvents yields high‐performance electrocatalysts with reduced waste (E‐factor 18.6). When integrated into gas diffusion electrodes, CoPc achieves up to 12% Faradays efficiency for CO2‐to‐methanol and 65% CO2‐to‐CO conversion, aligning with state‐of‐the‐art materials and enabling ...
