Cornus Mas L. Seed‐Derived Biosorbent for Methylene Blue Removal: Surface Characterization and Biosorption Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Cornus mas L. seeds are transformed into a high‐performance biosorbent through chemical modification, effectively removing methylene blue from aqueous solutions. Comprehensive characterization and optimization reveal a maximum biosorption capacity of 71.71 mg g−1, establishing this sustainable, cost‐effective material as a promising solution for ...

A basic approach to the verification and validation of sorption isotherm models [PDF]

open access: yesJournal on Processing and Energy in Agriculture, 2018
In this paper, a procedure for the statistical verification and validation of a newly generated sorption isotherm M01 model is defined. A basic approach to the evaluation of a model for approximating experimental sorption data is presented.

Covalent Attachment of Quaternary Ammonium Group to Geopolymer Surface With Silane Coupling Agent to Enable Simultaneous Adsorption of Cations and Anions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Modification of geopolymer surface with a silane coupling agent containing quaternary ammonium group enables the development of dual‐functioning ion exchanger for both cations and anions. In the present study, the performance of this material was demonstrated for the uptake of ammonium and nitrate from water.

Effects of freeze-drying and use of artificial seawater on phosphorus exchange isotherms in brackish water sediments

open access: yesSN Applied Sciences, 2022
This study reports results on the estimated magnitude of changes in P sorption isotherms in clayey mud sediments when performed using (1) freeze-dried instead of fresh sediment samples and (2) artificial sea water (ASW) instead of ambient near-bottom ...

Effect of Soil Organic Matter and Humates on Adsorption and Desorption Chemistry of Iodide in an Aridisol

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Sciences, 2020
The translocation of iodine (I) from soil to food chain is largely determined by its adsorption/desorption reaction in soils. In this study, the effects of commercial humates (HA) applied on an Aridisol and indigenous soil organic matter (SOM) on the ...

Lattice Distortion‐Driven Metal Exsolution in Perovskite Oxides

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study elucidates the mechanism of lattice distortion‐driven exsolution through a combination of computational simulations and experimental approaches. Lattice distortion facilitates the formation of oxygen vacancies and subsequent metal segregation, thereby enhancing the exsolution behavior.
