The sorption isotherms of potassium

open access: yesCommunications in Soil Science and Plant Analysis, 1994
Abstract The one‐ and two‐surface Langmuir, the Freundlich and the Temkin isotherms were fitted to potassium sorption data for Alfisol Haploxeralf at pH range of 4.0 to 8.0. Each was found to describe potassium sorption data with comparable success, with the Freundlich model being slightly superior.

Scanning or desorption isotherms? Characterising sorption hysteresis of wood

open access: yesCellulose, 2018
Sorption isotherms describe the relation between the equilibrium moisture content of a material and the ambient relative humidity. Most materials exhibits sorption hysteresis, that is, desorption give higher equilibrium moisture contents than absorption ...

Sorption isotherms of agricultural products [PDF]

open access: yesResearch in Agricultural Engineering, 2014
The aim of the paper is to expand the theory of sorption and equilibrium moisture contents as well as to present the methodology of developing two types of sorption isotherms - I and II. The attention is also paid to the importance of the isotherms in the thermodynamics of drying and in the process of storage of agricultural products.

Molecular Adsorbing Host•Guest (MAHG) Crystals: A New Paradigm for Porous Materials?

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Networking! Introduction of guest molecules in macrocycles before crystallization profoundly influences the material obtained in terms of structure and function. Beside simplicity and porous space improvement, this approach is endowed with a huge potential given the myriad of potential guest molecules that can be used to tune this burgeoning class of ...

Halide Perovskite Integrated Photovoltaic Cathodes Incorporating Pt on ZIF‐8‐Derived Carbon for Solar Hydrogen Production

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A low‐Pt catalyst supported on zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF‐8)‐derived porous carbon and graphite is integrated with a halide perovskite photovoltaic, yielding cathodes that achieve a high photocurrent density (∼20 mA cm−2) under simulated sunlight and exhibit remarkable stability in acidic media over several days, thereby demonstrating a ...

Sorption isotherms of Brazil nuts [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Engenharia Agrícola e Ambiental, 2019
ABSTRACT Knowledge of the water sorption phenomenon in Brazil nut seeds will allow proper handling of this product, especially with regard to adequate conditions for safe storage. Thus, the present study aimed to determine the sorption isotherms (desorption and adsorption) of Brazil nuts, fitting different mathematical models to the experimental data ...

Catalytically Enhanced Near Room‐Temperature Hydrogen Sensing Using Pd‐ZnO Colloidal Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Pd‐decorated ZnO colloidal crystal monolayers demonstrate excellent performance across a wide hydrogen concentration range at 33°C, with high selectivity and reproducible device fabrication. The sensors show strong responses even at low‐ppm H2 concentrations and an ultra‐low detection limit of 82 ppb, indicating their suitability for diverse hydrogen ...

2D Co‐Mo‐Hydroxide‐Based Multifunctional Material for the Development of H2‐Based Clean Energy Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
2D α‐Co(OH)2 interleaved with Mo species displays an appealing dual functionality for the production and use of green hydrogen.Mo incorporation greatly benefits the electrochemical behaviour in Oxygen Evolution Reaction for H2 production, while the magnetocaloric response at liquid H2 temperature paves the way for alternative cryogenic refrigerants ...

Review models of sorption isotherms

open access: yesJournal on Processing and Energy in Agriculture, 2022
Numerous mathematical models for approximation of sorption data of food and agriculture materials are available in the referent scientific and engineering literature. Depending on the number of parameters included in the model for approximation of moisture sorption data, the models may be one, two, three, four, five or more parametric.
