Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

Sorting algorithms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Pri obrovských objemech dat, které se behem výrobních procesu zpracovávají, je snadná orientace a hledání v nich zcela zásadní. Správné a rychlé trídení dat je jednou z nejduležitejších cinností pri jejich zpracování.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

Statistical benchmarking of voting theory methods

open access: yesLietuvos Matematikos Rinkinys, 2016
In the article 8 candidates sorting algorithms were compared by Monte Carlo experiments. 6 of them are constructed on the basis of voting theory and 2 – on the basis of Kemeny median. The largest number of correct decisions averages and the least average

An Enhanced Multiway Sorting Network Based on n-Sorters

open access: yes, 2014
Merging-based sorting networks are an important family of sorting networks. Most merge sorting networks are based on 2-way or multi-way merging algorithms using 2-sorters as basic building blocks. An alternative is to use n-sorters, instead of 2-sorters,

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Analysis of Modified Shell Sort for Fully Homomorphic Encryption

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
The Shell sort algorithm is one of the most practically effective in-place sorting algorithms. However, it is difficult to execute this algorithm with its intended running time complexity on data encrypted using fully homomorphic encryption (FHE ...
