Optically visualized sound field reconstruction based on sparse selection of point sound sources

2015 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2015
Visualization is an effective way to understand the behavior of a sound field. There are several methods for such observation including optical measurement technique which enables a non-destructive acoustical observation by detecting density variation of the medium.

Full field tomographic reconstruction of sound fields using TV holography

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1995
A vibrating sound source causes periodic variations of the refractive index in the surrounding medium. A light wave passing through the sound field will experience a corresponding variation of its path length which can be measured by interferometric techniques like TV holography.

Regularized reconstruction of sound fields with a spherical microphone array

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2013
Spherical near field acoustic holography with microphones mounted on a rigid spherical surface is used to reconstruct the incident sound field. However, reconstruction outside the sphere is an ill-posed inverse problem, and since this is very sensitive to the measurement noise, straightforward implementation might lead to disastrous reconstructions.

Adaptive sampling for optimized sensor placement in sound field reconstruction

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America
Sound field reconstruction estimates a continuous acoustic field from limited measurements. Yet, sensor placement is often handled by non-adaptive methods (prior designs) that suit spatially stationary fields but can be inefficient for nonstationary sound fields.

Reconstruction of radiating sound fields using minimum energy method

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2010
A method for reconstructing a pressure field at the surface of a radiating body or source is presented using recording data of a microphone array. The radiation is assumed to consist of many spherical radiators, as microphone positions are present in the array.

Reconstruction of reverberant sound fields over large spatial domains

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America
Characterising acoustic fields in rooms is challenging due to the complexity of data acquisition. Sound field reconstruction methods aim at predicting the acoustic quantities at positions where no data are available, incorporating generalisable physical priors of the sound in a room.
