A Measure Based on Beamforming Power for Evaluation of Sound Field Reproduction Performance
This paper proposes a measure to evaluate sound field reproduction systems with an array of loudspeakers. The spatially-averaged squared error of the sound pressure between the desired and the reproduced field, namely the spatial error, has been widely ...

Mapping the Soundscape in Communicative Forms for Cultural Heritage: Between Realism and Symbolism
The dimension of sound plays a central role as a form of cultural representation. Sound is a means of knowledge and experiential involvement, as it is inextricably linked to place and space, mind and body, cultural context and emotion.

Active techniques for the suppression and reproduction of sound fields [PDF]
The active suppression of unwanted sound and the reproduction of a desired sound field are very similar problems. Recent work on the active control of sound has successfully used multichannel adaptive filters in the feed-forward control of periodic and quasiperiodic low-frequency sound in aircraft [S. J. Elliott et al., J. Sound Vib.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Diffuse-Field Equalisation of Binaural Ambisonic Rendering
Ambisonics has enjoyed a recent resurgence in popularity due to virtual reality applications. Low order Ambisonic reproduction is inherently inaccurate at high frequencies, which causes poor timbre and height localisation. Diffuse-Field Equalisation (DFE)

The Availability of a Hidden Real Reference Affects the Plausibility of Position-Dynamic Auditory AR
This study examines the plausibility of Auditory Augmented Reality (AAR) realized with position-dynamic binaural synthesis over headphones. An established method to evaluate the plausibility of AAR asks participants to decide whether they are listening ...

From Shear to Sound: Mechanics–Acoustics Mapping of TPMS Lattices
Triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) lattices are mapped across mechanical and acoustic performance, revealing that descriptors validated in compression fail under shear. First‐time comparison with trusses included. A transition from porous to resonance‐driven absorption emerges at 25% density.
