Perceptual models for sound field analysis and synthesis [PDF]
This thesis describes the methodology that has been followed for the implementation of a biologically inspired auditory signal processing model that predicts human sound localization of stationary acoustic sound sources in 3D space. The intended use of the model is for the evaluation of audio systems.

Adaptive wave field synthesis for broadband active sound field reproduction: Signal processing
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2008Sound field reproduction is a physical approach to the reproduction of the natural spatial character of hearing. It is also useful in experimental acoustics and psychoacoustics. Wave field synthesis (WFS) is a known open-loop technology which assumes that the reproduction environment is anechoic.

Perceptually motivated sound field synthesis for music presentation
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2017The conceptualization and implementation of a psychoacoustic sound field synthesis system for music is presented. Critical bands, the precedence effect, and integration times of the auditory system as well as the radiation characteristics of musical instruments are implemented in the signal processing.

Synthesis of the diffraction fields of acoustic echo-sounding antennas
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1978Based on a more general integral formulation developed for the acoustic echo-sounding antenna pattern [S. A. Adekola, J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 60, 230–239 (1976)], this paper deals with the pattern-synthesis-by employing a pair of Hankel-Transform integrals that uses the acoustic farfield pattern variable kasinθ for a circular antenna source. As a numerical

3D Sound Reproduction by Wave Field Synthesis
2014In this chapter, we focus on the spatial audio technique implemented for 3D multimedia content including spatial audio and video. The spatial audio rendering method based on wave field synthesis is particularly useful for applications where multiple listeners experience a true spatial soundscape while being free to move around without losing spatial ...
