Sound Field Synthesis with Distributed Modal Constraints [PDF]

open access: yesActa Acustica united with Acustica, 2012
A method is introduced for calculating driving functions for loudspeaker arrays used to control sound fields. This is based on the simultaneous solution of multiple modal constraints whose centres are distributed in space. Several test examples are described.

Miniature Soft Robot With Magnetically Reprogrammable Surgical Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Miniature soft robots have great prospects to revolutionize minimally invasive treatments. Here we present a miniature soft robot, which can be reprogrammed to perform five surgical functionalities with six‐degrees‐of‐freedom motions. This soft robot can prospectively make minimally invasive surgery considerably safer and painless, and enable ...

Local sound field synthesis

open access: yes, 2019
This thesis investigates the physical and perceptual properties of selected methods for (Local) Sound Field Synthesis ((L)SFS). In agreement with numerical sound field simulations, a specifically developed geometric model shows an increase of synthesis accuracy for LSFS compared to conventional SFS approaches.
