Investigation of Possibilities of Sound Recognition
A possibility of recognizing mechanical, electromechanical and other devices according to the characteristics of noise induced by them is considered. The recognition algorithm can apply two criteria – differences in noise spectra and noise levels. The recognition is performed according to the minimum of these differences.

Visually adaptive virtual sound imaging using loudspeakers
Advances in computer technology and low cost cameras open up new possibilities for three dimensional (3D) sound reproduction. The problem is to update the audio signal processing scheme for a moving listener, so that the listener perceives only the ...

Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Context-based sound event recognition [PDF]
The research domain of automatic sound event recognition aims to describe an audio signal in terms of the sound events that compose a sonic environment. The ability to recognize events in a real‐world environment requires a listener or system to separate

The study considers the use of polymer/dielectric‐based multilayers piezoelectric Energy Harvesters (EH) to produce an output voltage and current, by exploiting the mechanical energy provided by human organs movements. In particular, the heart motion is considered from the kinematic viewpoint, and a multiphysics theoretical model is developed to assess

Emotion-Recognition System for Smart Environments Using Acoustic Information (ERSSE)
Acoustic management is very important for detecting possible events in the context of a smart environment (SE). In previous works, we proposed a reflective middleware for acoustic management (ReM-AM) and its autonomic cycles of data analysis tasks, along
