Source localization in underwater sound fields [PDF]
We investigated the acoustical information present in the field of arbitrary sound sources which may provide direction and distance to the source from a local reading of the sound field parameters. If the effects of reflections are negligible, the particle acceleration is directed radially at the instant of sound pressure nulls.

Reflection-Aware Sound Source Localization [PDF]
We present a novel, reflection-aware method for 3D sound localization in indoor environments. Unlike prior approaches, which are mainly based on continuous sound signals from a stationary source, our formulation is designed to localize the position instantaneously from signals within a single frame.

A Bayesian Stochastic Machine for Sound Source Localization [PDF]
Compared to conventional processors, stochastic computing architectures have strong potential to speed up computation time and to reduce power consumption. We present such an architecture, called Bayesian Machine (BM), dedicated to solving Bayesian inference problems.

Adjoint-Based Identification of Sound Sources for Sound Reinforcement and Source Localization
The identification of sound sources is a common problem in acoustics. Different parameters are sought, among these are signal and position of the sources. We present an adjoint-based approach for sound source identification, which employs computational aeroacoustic techniques. Two different applications are presented as a proof-of-concept: optimization
