Predicting the sound insulation of plywood panels when treated with decoupled mass loaded barriers [PDF]
The addition of mass loaded barriers can be used to improve the sound transmission loss properties of lightweight panels. Decoupling of the mass layer from the panel is achieved using a layer of open celled foam. This treatment causes the panel system to

Sound transmission loss: Comparison of conventional techniques with sound intensity techniques
Sound transmission losses for a single layer wall are measured in a reverberation room facility using conventional methods (ASTM E90) and the more recently introduced sound intensity method. The specimen is placed in five positions in the tunnel between the two reverberation rooms and measurements are made for four different absorptive conditions in ...

A NOTE ON METHODS FOR THE ESTIMATION OF THE AIRBORNE SOUND INSULATION OF TIMBER FRAME STRUCTURES [PDF]
Acoustic behavior of structures with wooden elements is nowadays of great interest. At the same time, the estimation of the airborne sound insulation of timber frame structures is a complex procedure which includes the prediction of several resonances ...

Quantum sticking, scattering and transmission of 4He atoms from superfluid 4He surfaces [PDF]
We develop a microscopic theory of the scattering, transmission, and sticking of 4He atoms impinging on a superfluid 4He slab at near normal incidence, and inelastic neutron scattering from the slab.

Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.
