Sound transmission loss: Comparison of conventional techniques with sound intensity techniques
Sound transmission losses for a single layer wall are measured in a reverberation room facility using conventional methods (ASTM E90) and the more recently introduced sound intensity method. The specimen is placed in five positions in the tunnel between the two reverberation rooms and measurements are made for four different absorptive conditions in ...

Predicting the sound insulation of plywood panels when treated with decoupled mass loaded barriers [PDF]
The addition of mass loaded barriers can be used to improve the sound transmission loss properties of lightweight panels. Decoupling of the mass layer from the panel is achieved using a layer of open celled foam. This treatment causes the panel system to

Empirical prediction of traffic noise transmission loss across plenum windows [PDF]
A parametric study on the traffic noise transmission loss across plenum windows was carried out experimentally in this investigation in an attempt to establish a simple empirical model for predicting this transmission loss. A total of fourteen full scale

Parametric analysis of sound transmission loss in a rectangular duct attached with resonator silencer [PDF]
Noise is an existing problem that exist in the environments produced from vibrating sources. In general, the common solutions for noise control are: (1) redesigning the system the system for instance increasing wall thickness or stiffening structures,

Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.
