Partition intersections and their effects on transmission loss and apparent sound transmission class [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of Meetings on Acoustics, 2013
It is widely recognized and accepted that poorly designed intersections between partitions can significantly reduce the sound isolation that is achieved. However, the effect of specific intersection details are not widely reported and available. This presentation will focus on a case study in which different intersection details have been tested in the

Ferroelectric Dynamic‐Field‐Driven Nucleation and Growth Model for Predictive Materials‐To‐Circuit Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a compact dynamic‐field‐driven nucleation and growth (DFNG) model that captures ferroelectric switching behavior under arbitrary voltage waveforms. It enables extraction of time‐dependent domain wall velocity and growth dimensionality, which can then be extended to device‐level modeling.

Modeling the effect of the number and angle of the baffle on the sound transmission loss in reactive muffler [PDF]

open access: yesSalāmat-i kār-i Īrān
Introduction: The sound coming from the exhaust of cars is the main cause of noise pollution in the urban environment. Mufflers are used as a passive noise control device to reduce the sound coming from the exhaust of cars.

Numerical Design of Sound-Insulating Material with Combined Cavities of Mixed Sizes

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2020
In view of the low-frequency acoustic insulation performance and poor pressure resistance of a single cavity at present, finite element software COMSOL is used to establish an analysis model to calculate the sound transmission loss (TL) and compression ...

Evaluation of damping loss factor of flat laminates by sound transmission [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A novel approach to investigate and evaluate the damping loss factor of a planar multilayered structure is presented. A statistical analysis reveals the connection between the damping properties of the structure and the transmission of sound through the ...
