Summary Plant water storage contributes to transpiration, but it is unclear how its relevance in supporting transpiration depends on the stringency of stomatal regulation. Here, we show the compounding effect of stomatal regulation and hydraulic capacitance on plant water use, by means of a soil–plant hydraulic model and measurements of leaf water ...

Is a More‐Than‐Minimal State the Meta‐Utopia?
ABSTRACT Part III of Anarchy, State, and Utopia defends the minimal state as a framework for utopia. On Bader's reconstruction, this defense contains two justificatory strands: a common ground argument, which shows the minimal state to be compatible with the widest range of utopian associations, and an approximation argument, which holds it to be the ...

Abstract Purpose Cognitive‐behavioural therapy for psychosis (CBTp) achieves small to modest effect sizes, which invites the question, ‘What clinical modifications might improve outcomes?’ This paper proposes an integration of CBTp with a neuropsychoanalytic approach that in clinical practice might extend the gains achieved by CBTp alone.

ABSTRACT Drought limits the productivity of fast‐growing woody crops, although the metabolic adjustments conferring water stress tolerance remain poorly understood. We investigated the responses of Populus nigra seedlings to water stress by integrating daily physiological measurements and NMR metabolomic analyses.
