Obesity raises blood levels of PAI‐1, a protein linked to metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease in people with obesity. In female mice fed a high‐fat diet, partially lowering PAI‐1 led to smaller subcutaneous fat cells and lower liver cholesterol, without changing body weight or insulin sensitivity.

Activating process of geopolymer source material: kaolinite
The calcining process was recorded by differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetry (DSC-TG). The dehydroxylation (activating process) was partitioned into two steps by calculating and comparing the O—H bond lengths between inner hydroxyl group ...

Ligand‐dependent transcriptional heterogeneity in cell cycle gene expression delays G1/S entry
EGF and HRG induce distinct G1/S progression programs in ErbB2‐amplified BT474 breast cancer cells. Despite activating the potent ErbB2–ErbB3 heterodimer, HRG does not accelerate cell‐cycle entry. Instead, EGF promotes earlier restriction‐point passage via ERK–FOS signaling, whereas HRG activates the AKT–MYC axis, driving transcriptional heterogeneity ...

Stuff happens: a material culture approach to textile conservation
Textile conservation, defined here as the preservation, investigation andpresentation of textiles, is often viewed largely as a technical andaesthetic problem.

Synergistic perspectives—How single‐molecule biophysics complement biochemical understanding
In this review, we discuss how ensemble biochemistry and single‐molecule approaches are complementary, outline commonly used single‐molecule techniques, and illustrate their relevance through two representative case studies: chromatin organization by SMC complexes and pathway choice during DNA double‐strand break repair.

Nanodiffraction imaging of ionically driven phase separation in cobaltite heterostructures
Controlling the anionic stoichiometry and distribution of perovskite cobaltites presents a powerful method for tailoring the magnetic and electronic properties for magneto-ionic applications. Nevertheless, the influence of nanoscale morphology, including

Translophagy—A potential link between autophagy impairment and translational errors
Neurodegenerative diseases are characterised by the accumulation of abnormal proteins and protein aggregates, but their origin often remains unknown. We propose that selective autophagy removes damaged protein‐making machinery, preventing errors during protein synthesis.

Propagator and wave-equation inversion for near-receiver material properties [PDF]
Near-receiver material properties are required for the separation of the recorded wavefield into upgoing and downgoing P and S waves, and are also important for static time-shift corrections.
