Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Sourcing semiclassical gravity from spontaneously localized quantum matter [PDF]
The possibility that a classical space-time and quantum matter cohabit at the deepest level, i.e. the possibility of having a fundamental and not phenomenological semiclassical gravity, is often disregarded for lack of a good candidate theory.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

EXPANDED GLASS BY A NONCONVENTIONAL MICROWAVE HEATING TECHNIQUE FROM RESIDUAL GLASS
Glass-ceramic foam was produced from residual glass (87.6-87.9 %), coal fly ash (8.5-10 %), silicon carbide (2-3 %), and kaolin (0.4-0.6 %) by sintering at 950-975 ºC.

DOMESTIC AND GLOBAL SOURCING [PDF]
This paper develops a general equilibrium Ricardian model with transaction costs to investigate the determinants of the firm's sourcing decision. It derives conditions under which different sourcing choices and corresponding trade patterns occur in ...

Testing Multi-Field Inflation: A Geometric Approach [PDF]
We develop an approach for linking the power spectra, bispectrum, and trispectrum to the geometric and kinematical features of multifield inflationary Lagrangians.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

REVIEW: MAKING STRENGTH CELLULAR GLASS
The original non-conventional technique of preparing expanded bottle utilizing recycled bottle waste and a combination between glycerin in association with Na2SiO3 and Na2CO3, as liquid and respectively, solid expanding agents, was experimentally tested ...

Capacity Reservation under Spot Market Price Uncertainty [PDF]
The traditional way of procurement, using long-term contract and capacity reservation, is competing with the escalating global spot market. Considering the variability of the spot prices, the flexibility of combined sourcing can be used to benefit from ...
