Abstract A small‐volume 6,000 m3 rockslide struck the Lorgino hamlet of Crevoladossola (NW Italy) just before 23:00 UTC on 26 January 2023, at the boundary of a nearby marble quarry. The rockslide severely damaged the mining infrastructure and halted operations for months, fortunately without causing injuries or casualties.

Abstract Mountain grasslands are vital ecosystems providing critical services such as carbon sequestration, water regulation, and biodiversity conservation. However, these ecosystems are increasingly threatened by climate change and human activities. This study evaluates vegetation dynamics in global mountain grasslands (2000–2021) using remote sensing

Long‐Term Snow Avalanche Trends in High Mountain Asia: Climatic Drivers and Impacts
Abstract Devastating snow avalanches are frequent in High Mountain Asia (HMA) yet remain undocumented with climate change impact drivers poorly understood. Here we introduce the first record of 60 million avalanche deposits across 10,701 small catchments, compiled from 33 years of Landsat data from 1990 until 2022 using a snow index.

Spatial and Temporal Variability of Microbial Nitrogen Cycling Genes in Arctic Streams
Abstract The Arctic is undergoing rapid climate change, with thawing permafrost and shifts in vegetation altering nitrogen (N) delivery into streams. These changes can significantly affect microbial biofilm diversity and functional roles, yet knowledge of streambed microbial biofilms remains scarce across the Arctic.
