Seamless Mechanical Programming Through Hybrid Epoxy–Acrylate Printing for Soft–Rigid Robots
Hybrid epoxy‐acrylate printing enables seamless fabrication of soft–rigid robotic systems with covalently integrated interfaces and functionally graded mechanics. Grayscale exposure expands the accessible material space, enabling spatially programmed actuation through patterned stiffness while revealing the mechanics and durability of continuously ...

What can EMU countries' sovereign bond spreads tell us about market perceptions of default probabilities during the recent financial crisis? [PDF]
This paper presents a new approach for analysing the recent development of EMU sovereign bond spreads. Based on a GARCH-in-mean model originally used in the exchange rate target zone literature, spreads are decomposed into a risk premium, an expected ...

Automated poultry processing lines still rely on humans to lift slippery, easily bruised carcasses onto a shackle conveyor. Deformability, anatomical variance, and hygiene rules make conventional suction and scripted motions unreliable. We present ChicGrasp, an end‐to‐end hardware‐software co‐designed imitation learning framework, to offer a ...

Asymmetric Shocks, Long-term Bonds and Sovereign Default [PDF]
We present a sovereign default model with asymmetric shocks and long-term bonds, and solve the model using discrete state dynamic programming. As result, our model matches the Argentinean economy over period 1993Q1-2001Q4 quite well.

Contingent claims analysis as a credit risk metric: Evidence from Turkey [PDF]
Credit ratings have become open to dispute in recent years regarding their objectivity, timeliness, and the criteria considered in the assignment process, which resulted in an inclination toward other methods to measure credit risk.

Sovereign Default Risk Premia, Fiscal Limits and Fiscal Policy [PDF]
We develop a closed economy model to study the interactions among sovereign risk premia, fiscal limits, and fiscal policy. The stochastic fiscal limits, which measure the ability and willingness of the government to service its debt, arise endogenously from a dynamic Laffer curve.

Muscle Control of an Extra Robotic Digit
This study compares muscle‐ and movement‐based control for operating a supernumerary robotic thumb. While movement control performs better in the proposed tasks, muscle‐based (EMG) control promotes broader motor learning. The results highlight the promise and challenges of using biosignals for human augmentation, offering new insights into intuitive ...

A Pyrrhic Victory? - Bank Bailouts and Sovereign Credit Risk [PDF]
We show that financial sector bailouts and sovereign credit risk are intimately linked. A bailout benefits the economy by ameliorating the under-investment problem of the financial sector.

THE SOVEREIGN DEBT CHALLANGE: AN OVERVIEW [PDF]
Recent years have seen profound changes in country risk and its components, in the context of crises multiplication and diversification; the sovereign risk, a main country risk component, has undergone important changes, mainly given by mutations in its ...
