Sowing and Harvesting Measures to Cope with Challenges of Cover Crops Experienced by Finnish Farmers

open access: yesAgronomy, 2023
Farmers may promote the cultivation of under-sown cover crops (CCs) in various ways without jeopardizing the yield of a cash crop. With this survey, we aimed to understand how Finnish farmers manage possible challenges with under-sown CCs.

Post-harvest hyperspectral inspection of maize ear mechanical damage with a dual-attention 3D–2D network

open access: yesSmart Agricultural Technology
Accurate recognition of mechanical damage on maize ears is essential for post-harvest quality control, yet high-dimensional hyperspectral image (HSI) cubes make efficient and reliable classification challenging.

Hyperspectral detection of fresh corn peeling damage using germinating sparse classification method

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
Peeling damage reduces the quality of fresh corn ear and affects the purchasing decisions of consumers. Hyperspectral imaging technique has great potential to be used for detection of peeling-damaged fresh corn. However, conventional non-machine-learning

Redox‐Dependent Chaperoning of GBF1 Condensates Regulates Seed Germination in Arabidopsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In dormant seeds (low ROS), GBF1 forms liquid condensates to repress the germination gene CathB3, and the chaperone GIP1 maintains condensate liquidity and repressive activity. Upon imbibition (high ROS), ROS oxidize GIP1 during germination, impairing its chaperone function.
