Occurrence of Alfalfa mosaic virus in Soybean in Tennessee

open access: yesPlant Disease, 2010
Alfalfa mosaic virus (AMV), a member of the genus Alfamovirus in the family Bromoviridae, naturally infects a wide range of plant species (1). Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) has seldom been reported as a natural host of AMV and there are limited reports of detection of AMV in field-grown soybean plants (4).

14‐3‐3 proteins: Central hubs in plant development and stress adaptation

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, Volume 68, Issue 8, Page 3107-3132, August 2026.
This review highlights recent advances elucidating the important roles of 14‐3‐3 proteins in regulating phytohormone networks, biotic and abiotic stress tolerance, growth‐defense trade‐offs, and evolutionary adaptations. Furthermore, it provides a forward‐looking perspective on 14‐3‐3 biology and the development of climate‐resilient smart crops under ...

Potential unlocked: an atlas of cloned wheat genes for genome engineering and breeding

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 251, Issue 4, Page 1677-1683, August 2026.
Strategies for introducing genome edits into a wheat breeding program and their effects on cultivar longevity. Summary Bread wheat (Triticum aestivum) production is increasingly threatened by biotic and abiotic stresses. Developing varieties with improved stress tolerance and desirable end‐use qualities is crucial for meeting growing global demand ...

BIOCHEMICAL CHANGES IN SOYBEAN PLANTS AND SEEDS CAUSED BY VIRAL INFECTION

open access: yesHarčova Nauka ì Tehnologìâ
. Soybean (Glycine max L.)  is a significant source of protein and nutrients and is used in many healthy food products. It is known that soybean is susceptible to damage by  viruses, such as soybean mosaic virus (SMV).

Unfolding Plant Defence: Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress Signalling at the Plant‐Pathogen Interface

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 8, Page 4799-4822, August 2026.
ABSTRACT The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress response, a conserved proteostasis network, has emerged as a central hub that reprograms plant immunity during pathogen attack. This review synthesises how plants harness ER‐stress signalling to mount multilayered defences and how pathogens have evolved counterstrategies to subvert these pathways.

Assessment of genetic variation at soybean mosaic virus resistance loci in Indian Soybean (Glycine max L. Merill) genotypes using SSR markers

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2016
Soybean mosaic virus (SMV) disease is one of the major diseases of soybean globally that hampers soybean productivity. In India, SMV disease is gaining importance and there is a need to breed the soybean cultivars resistant to SMV.

De novo Genome Assembly and Single Nucleotide Variations for Soybean Mosaic Virus Using Soybean Seed Transcriptome Data

open access: yesThe Plant Pathology Journal, 2017
Soybean is the most important legume crop in the world. Several diseases in soybean lead to serious yield losses in major soybean-producing countries. Moreover, soybean can be infected by diverse viruses.

The Requirement of Multiple Defense Genes in Soybean Rsv1–Mediated Extreme Resistance to Soybean mosaic virus

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2012
Soybean mosaic virus (SMV) is a major viral pathogen of soybean. Among the three SMV resistance genes, Rsv1 mediates extreme resistance (ER) against most SMV strains, including the β-glucuronidase-tagged G2 isolate that was previously used in studies of ...

Rasprostranjenost virusa mozaika soje unutar embrija soje

open access: yesActa Botanica Croatica, 1990
