Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Alumina: Effects of Scanning Strategies on External and Internal Defects
This study investigates how scanning strategies affect pure alumina in laser powder bed fusion. Linear 45° scanning yields uniform surfaces but high porosity, while the island‐concentric strategy provides higher density with through‐holes favorable for infiltration. Findings highlight pathways toward optimizing defect‐free alumina parts.

Asymptotic Solutions of the Phase Space Schrodinger Equation: Anisotropic Gaussian Approximation
We consider the singular semiclassical initial value problem for the phase space Schrodinger equation. We approximate semiclassical quantum evolution in phase space by analyzing initial states as superpositions of Gaussian wave packets and applying ...

What Do Large Language Models Know About Materials?
If large language models (LLMs) are to be used inside the material discovery and engineering process, they must be benchmarked for the accurateness of intrinsic material knowledge. The current work introduces 1) a reasoning process through the processing–structure–property–performance chain and 2) a tool for benchmarking knowledge of LLMs concerning ...

Daugava riverfront space planning solutions Riga - Kekava area
Maģistra darbā izvēlētajam Daugavmalas posmam Rīga–Ķekava–Doles sala piemīt līdz šim neapzināts, augsts zaļi-zilās telpas potenciāls. Pašlaik zaļā atvērtā telpa atdala Pierīgas ciemus vienu no otra, bet, attīstoties urbanizācijas procesiem, pastāv draudi,

Optimal path planning for nonholonomic robotics systems via parametric optimisation
. Motivated by the path planning problem for robotic systems this paper considers nonholonomic path planning on the Euclidean group of motions SE(n) which describes a rigid bodies path in n-dimensional Euclidean space.

A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Impact of franchised family planning clinics in urban poor areas in Pakistan
Family planning programmes are costly to implement, so it is critical to determine their effect. This study uses a quasi-experimental design to determine the impact of new family planning clinics on knowledge, contraceptive use and unmet need for family ...

Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.
