A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Statistical Study on Space Charge effects and Stage Characteristics of Needle-Plate Corona Discharge under DC Voltage

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
The air’s partial discharges (PD) under DC voltage are obviously affected by space charges. Discharge pulse parameters have statistical regularity, which can be applied to analyze the space charge effects and discharge characteristics during the ...

Application of Raman and Photoluminescence Spectroscopy to MgO‐C Refractories

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Visible to near infrared luminescence of MgO is studied on MgO‐C bricks and nominally pure MgO powder, with focus on two similar sharp high‐intensity signals, at 699 and 871 nm, each surrounded by symmetrical sidebands. The nature of these sidebands is investigated by temperature‐dependent spectroscopic measurements, confirming phonon involvement by ...

Tailored Hierarchical Porous Copper Architectures via Three Dimensional Printing and Pressure‐less Sintering for Next‐Generation Lithium‐Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchical porous copper current collector is fabricated via three‐dimensional printing combined with pressureless sintering to stabilize lithium metal anodes. The interconnected architecture lowers local current density, guides uniform Li deposition within pores, and suppresses dendrite growth.

Fractional Effective Charges and Misner-Wheeler Charge without Charge Effect in Metamaterials

open access: yesPhotonics, 2016
Transformation optics enables engineering of the effective topology and dimensionality of the optical space in metamaterials. Nonlinear optics of such metamaterials may mimic Kaluza-Klein theories having one or more kinds of effective charges.

Unification of spins and charges in Grassmann space and in space of differential forms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Polynomials in Grassmann space can be used to describe all the internal degrees of freedom of spinors, scalars and vectors, that is their spins and charges.

Fields of accelerated sources: Born in de Sitter

open access: yes, 2005
This paper deals thoroughly with the scalar and electromagnetic fields of uniformly accelerated charges in de Sitter spacetime. It gives details and makes various extensions of our Physical Review Letter from 2002.

Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Asymptotic symmetries of Maxwell theory in arbitrary dimensions at spatial infinity

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
The asymptotic symmetry analysis of Maxwell theory at spatial infinity of Minkowski space with d ≥ 3 is performed. We revisit the action principle in de Sitter slicing and make it well-defined by an asymptotic gauge fixing.

Classical Integrability of the Squashed Three-sphere, Warped AdS3 and Schroedinger Spacetime via T-Duality

open access: yes, 2010
We discuss the integrability of 2d non-linear sigma models with target space being the squashed three-sphere, warped anti-de Sitter space and the Schroedinger spacetime. These models can be obtained via T-duality from integrable models.
