Fourier optical processing enables new capabilities in diamond magnetic imaging

open access: yes, 2017
Diamond-based magnetic field sensors have attracted great interest in recent years. In particular, wide-field magnetic imaging using nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond has been previously demonstrated in condensed matter, biological, and ...

A High Energy Barrier DyIII2 Single‐Molecule Magnet Supported by a Bulky, Anionic N–O Bridging Ligand

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Complex [Dy2(hynad)2(dbm)4] was prepared by the employment of the anionic N–O‐based bridging and chelating N‐hydroxy‐1,8‐naphthalimide ligand, featuring a {Dy2(µ‐OR)2}4+ core and exhibiting zero‐field SMM behavior with a Ueff value of 171 K and double‐S‐shaped hysteresis loops, open up to 3.5 K.

A Novel Heterometallic Ring {Cr5Ni3} and New {Cr6Co2} and {Cr6Zn2} Rings

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A novel heterometallic ring containing five Cr(III) and three Ni(II) centers is reported. It forms an octagon and has a single isomer, as revealed by a combination of magnetic and EPR studies and collision‐induced dissociation mass spectrometry. ABSTRACT A new heterometallic ring, [Me4N][(Me4N)2Cr5Ni3F8(BTFB)16] (BTFB = 3,5‐bis(trifluoromethyl)benzoate)

Macroscopic singlet states for gradient magnetometry

open access: yes, 2013
We present a method for measuring magnetic field gradients with macroscopic singlet states realized with ensembles of spin-j particles. While the singlet state is completely insensitive to homogeneous magnetic fields, the variance of its collective spin ...

Entropy‐Driven Innovations: Entropy Stabilized Oxides for High‐Performance Next‐Generation Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This article explores high‐entropy‐stabilized oxides (HEOs) as novel functional materials for addressing critical issues in lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries, including lithium polysulfide (LPS) shuttling, inadequate conductivity, and slow redox kinetics.

Graph theoretical analysis of resting magnetoencephalographic functional connectivity networks

open access: yesFrontiers in Computational Neuroscience, 2013
Complex networks have been observed to comprise small-world properties, believed to represent an optimal organization of local specialization and global integration of information processing at reduced wiring cost.

Growth-Induced In-Plane Uniaxial Anisotropy in V$_{2}$O$_{3}$/Ni Films

open access: yes, 2017
We report on a strain-induced and temperature dependent uniaxial anisotropy in V$_{2}$O$_{3}$/Ni hybrid thin films, manifested through the interfacial strain and sample microstructure, and its consequences on the angular dependent magnetization reversal.

A Three‐Dimensional Structural Model for Predicting Magnetic Exchange and Hydrogen Positions in Bis‐μ‐Hydroxido Cu(II) Dimers

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Magneto‐structural correlation in bis‐μ‐hydroxido Cu(II) dimers: The out‐of‐plane angle (α) of bridging hydroxido groups critically influences the exchange coupling constant (J). A three‐dimensional correlation combining α and the Cu‐OH‐Cu angle (θ) enables computationally accurate J prediction.

Bias-Field-Free Operation of Nitrogen-Vacancy Ensembles in Diamond for Accurate Vector Magnetometry

open access: yesPRX Quantum
Accurate measurement of vector magnetic fields is critical for applications including navigation, geoscience, and space exploration. Nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center spin ensembles offer a promising solution for high-sensitivity vector magnetometry, as their
