The Maintenance of Orbital States in a Floating Partial Space Elevator Using the Reinforcement Learning Method

open access: yesAerospace
A partial space elevator (PSE) is a multi-body tethered space system in which the main satellite, typically an ultra-large spacecraft or a space station in a higher orbit, is connected to a transport spacecraft in a lower orbit via a tether, maintaining ...

Rotating tethered system for active space debris removal

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2019
Abstract A new technique for active debris removal using tethered space tug is presented. Instead of towing the captured debris object by pulling on the attached tether it is proposed to use the rotation of the tethered tug-debris system that allows to apply the tug’s thrust along the tether pushing the system.

WorMa: An Undulatory Robot With Center of Mass Regulation via Internal Fluid Redistribution for Amphibious Locomotion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
WorMa is an amphibious undulatory robot that uses Center of Mass redistribution as the sole terrain adaptation mechanism. This mechanism is based on internal fluid mass redistribution through a pump‐driven latex balloon system that creates three profiles: head‐biased, balanced, and tail‐biased.

Combating Inflammation and Promoting Anabolism in Osteoarthritic Cartilage Defect With an MMP13‐Sensing Dual‐Drug Scaffold

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Osteoarthritis (OA) is a widespread degenerative joint condition marked by progressive cartilage breakdown, and a chronic inflammatory microenvironment, where conventional therapies largely fail to halt disease progression. To address this unmet need, an intra‐articularly implantable, disease‐responsive scaffold was developed for combinatorial
