Bioabsorbable Interbody Spacers

Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, 2007
Bioabsorbable polymers have been used in surgery for more than four decades. With increased reliability and decreased incidence of complications, their application has become widespread. Although their role in spinal surgery continues to evolve, the theoretic biomechanical and biologic advantages over contemporary metallic and composite implant ...

Bubbles in spacers: Direct observation of bubble behavior in spacer filled membrane channels

Journal of Membrane Science, 2009
Air sparging is a means to prevent biofouling and scaling in hollow fibers and tubular membranes. Little is known for the case of bubbles flowing in spacer filled channels. We first demonstrate that the flow of bubbles in feed channels prevents biofouling.

Kerning or Positioning Using Spacer Glyphs. Positioning with Spacers

Design Considerations of Spacers for Aerial Spacer Cable

IEEE Transactions on Electrical Insulation, 1969
The design considerations for the use of high alumina in spacers for spacer cable are discussed. The spacer configuration is a function of the characteristics of the insulation materials involved?both the spacer and the phase conductor covering.

Comparison of spacer-less and spacer-filled reverse electrodialysis

Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy, 2017
Reverse electrodialysis (RED) is a renewable energy technology used to recover dissipated chemical energy in river estuaries globally. This technology has recently attracted significant attention owing to its great reliability and scalability. In this study, we propose the use of a spacer-less RED (i.e., a system in which a woven mesh is excluded from ...
