Aerodynamic noise prediction for long-span bodies

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 2007
Abstract A computational methodology is proposed for aerodynamic noise prediction of long-span bodies at low Mach numbers. The three-dimensional hydrodynamic field is computed by incompressible large eddy simulation, while its two-dimensional acoustic field at zero spanwise wavenumber is solved by the linearized perturbed compressible equations (LPCE)

Predicting Corrosion over a 50-Year Time Span

Materials Performance, 2022
Nuclear technology for power generation provides a clean, environmentally friendly source of energy, which is more reliable than wind and solar energy. However, the nuclear fuel rods require periodic replacement which, unlike wind and solar energy, also necessitates safe storage of the used fuel that is still hot and radioactive.

Predicting Life Span for Applicants to

Archives of Internal Medicine, 1988
• The advent of hospice programs and their funding under Medicare has recently made eligibility for substantial insured services turn on whether a patient has less than three or six months to live. The implicit assumption is that physicians can provide this prediction accurately. To test this assumption and to improve predictions, the life spans of 108

Quality Span Prediction (QSP) of Solar Photovoltaic Panels

2021 Third International Conference on Intelligent Communication Technologies and Virtual Mobile Networks (ICICV), 2021
One of the most beneficial systems to generate green energy are the solar panels. At present various types of photovoltaic panels are in use depending on the energy requirement of the user. But, all panels are not in good conditions. Sometimes the users are supplied with very old and degraded quality panels.

Refinement of Protein Structure Predicted Models Using Minimum Spanning Tree

Current Computer Aided-Drug Design, 2015
The protein structure prediction is of three categories: homology modeling, fold recognition and ab initio modeling, and this division into categories depends on whether similar protein structures were previously determined using X-ray crystallography or NMR or not.

Prediction of Long Span Bridges Response to Winds

2020
Long-span cable supported bridges are highly susceptible to wind excitation and the aerodynamic instability such as flutter and buffeting phenomena play an important role in design of these bridges. This study presents methods for predicting the phenomenon of aerodynamic instability and buffeting responses. Firstly, the flutter instability is predicted

The Digit Span Test and the Prediction of Cerebral Pathology

Archives of Neurology And Psychiatry, 1958
The use of the auditory-vocal digit span test in clinical examination procedures is based on the assumption that it usefully reflects the status of an important area of intellectual functioning. When defective performance on this immediate memory task is observed, the most frequent diagnostic inferences are those of anxiety-induced interference or of ...
