Random Spanning Trees and the Prediction of Weighted Graphs

open access: yes, 2010
We investigate the problem of sequentially predicting the binary labels on the nodes of an arbitrary weighted graph. We show that, under a suitable parametrization of the problem, the optimal number of prediction mistakes can be characterized (up to logarithmic factors) by the cutsize of a random spanning tree of the graph.

Fibers of Failure: Classifying Errors in Predictive Processes

open access: yesAlgorithms, 2020
Predictive models are used in many different fields of science and engineering and are always prone to make faulty predictions. These faulty predictions can be more or less malignant depending on the model application. We describe fibers of failure (FiFa)

The DTN Routing Algorithm Based on Markov Meeting Time Span Prediction Model

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2013
Putting forward an efficient routing algorithm in DTN (delay tolerant network) has become a focus of attention due to the existing phenomena that the connections between nodes in the network change dramatically over time and the communications suffer ...

Fatigue Life Prediction of Submarine Pipelines with Varying Span Length and Position

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
Free spans of submarine pipelines are prone to be subjected to vortex-induced vibration (VIV) under the action of currents, leading to fatigue damage of submarine pipelines.

Prediction of Drift Trajectory in the Ocean Using Double-Branch Adaptive Span Attention

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
The accurate prediction of drift trajectories holds paramount significance for disaster response and navigational safety. The future positions of underwater drifters in the ocean are closely related to their historical drift patterns.
