Characteristics of Ni3Al + Fe powders produced by spark erosion quenching
Materials Science and Engineering, 1988Abstract Two single-phase L1 2 alloys, consisting of Ni 77.5 Al 22.5 plus 10–12.5 at.% Fe, were used to make powder by spark erosion, using dodecane, water and liquid argon as dielectric liquids. The objective was to determine whether the degree of order could be reduced by the rapid quenching inherent in the spark erosion process. The powders were

Ni-Mn-Ga-based magnetic shape memory materials were elaborated by spark plasma sintering method. Micron sized particles were prepared by spark-erosion method in liquid argon and liquid nitrogen from preliminary melted magnetic shape memory master alloys Ni-28.5Mn-22.5G at.%. Powders were annealed in H2 gas atmosphere before sintering.

Features of spark erosion fine Mo and Nb alloys powders
Perspektivnye Materialy, 2023Сharacteristics of spherical powders of (Mo,Nb) and (Nb,Mo) alloys prepared by spark erosion technique are described. Two regimes (U = 24 V, I = 10 A and U = 24 V, I = 20 A in distilled water) were chosen for powder preparation. The pyrolysis of dielectric liquid during spark erosion leads to the formation of stable oxides NbO and NbO2 as thin crusts ...

Preparation of metallic and intermetallic powders by spark erosion
Journal of Physics E: Scientific Instruments, 1978A spark erosion technique for the preparation of finely divided metallic and intermetallic powders is described. An X-ray diffraction line-broadening analysis was used to compare the average particle size obtained for a spark-produced nickel powder with that of a commercially prepared catalyst, Raney nickel.

Spark erosion: A method for producing rapidly quenched fine powders
Journal of Materials Research, 1987Spark erosion is a method for producing fine powders of metals, alloys, semiconductors, and compounds. The technique involves maintaining repetitive spark discharges among chunks of material immersed in a dielectric liquid. As a result of the spark discharge there is highly localized melting or vaporization of the material.

Heat Treatment of Nanostructured Powders Obtained by Spark Erosion of WC-8Co Cemented Carbide in Oil
Solid State Phenomena, 2020Spark erosion of WC-8Co carbide pieces in oil resulted in a powder consisting of nanostructured spherical microparticles formed by rapid crystallization of the melt. These particles consist of rounded WC grains with an average diameter of about 0.18 μm, surrounded by cobalt.
