Magnetothermal characteristics of amorphous Fe-Si-B powder produced by spark erosion

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1977
It has been found that the amorphous powder of a transition metal - metalloid alloy can be prepared by the spark erosion technique. The powder consists of roughly spherical particles whose diameters are ranging from 0.5 μm to 30μm. The preparation procedure of the powder is described and its magnetothermal characteristics and the crystallization ...

Production of WC-15Co ultrafine-grained hard alloy from powder obtained by VK15 alloy waste spark erosion in water

Izvestiya vuzov. Poroshkovaya metallurgiya i funktsional’nye pokrytiya, 2020
The study covers the possibility of WC-15Co ultrafine cemented carbide production from powder obtained by spark erosion (SE) of VK15 cemented carbide waste in water. As a result of SE in an oxygen-containing liquid (H2O), the carbon content in the resulting powder decreases from 5.3 to 2.3 %.

Spark erosion as a high-throughput method for producing bimodal nanostructured 316L stainless steel powder

Powder Technology, 2018
Abstract A high-throughput shaker-pot spark erosion process was used to synthesize a spherical polydisperse 316L stainless steel nanopowder. Capacitance and target morphology of the shaker-pot spark erosion process were evaluated to optimize powder production. Nanopowders were assessed using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM),

Preparation of Powder by Spark Erosion

Powder Metallurgy, 1988
Abstract When two electrodes are immersed in close proximity in a dielectric fluid, connected to a pulsed power source, and the field strength in the gap is sufficiently high, a spark is produced as a result of the breakdown of the dielectric. In the present study, fine particles of various metals have been prepared by spark erosion in various ...
