Altitude Effects on Ejected Flames in Façade Calibration Tests: Experimental and Numerical Investigation

open access: yesFire and Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ejected flames from a compartment opening pose a significant fire hazard to building fire safety, serving as a trigger of rapid façade flame spread. Although extensively studied under standard altitude conditions, their fire behavior under subatmospheric pressure remains to be further explored.

The limits of women's choices in Japan: Pronatalism, autonomy, and narratives of sexual risk in the era of the pill

open access: yesFeminist Anthropology, EarlyView.

Full Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics Ahead: Leveraging Immersive Virtual Reality to Create Equitable and Transformative Learning Experiences

open access: yesFuture in Educational Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Immersive virtual reality (IVR) is widely promoted as a means of enriching learning in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM), yet evidence of its capacity to foster equitable classroom experiences for marginalised groups remains limited, particularly outside traditional STEM domains.

Lifetime of the Gas Evolution Electrode of the Zn–H2 Storage System

open access: yesFuel Cells, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A novel electrically chargeable galvanic system is presented that efficiently stores energy in the form of zinc and releases hydrogen and electricity upon discharge. In this concept, oxygen is released at the gas electrode during charging, and zinc oxide is reduced to metallic zinc at the counter electrode.
