3D‐Printed Corneal Substitutes: Materials, Fabrication, and Preclinical Progress

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Successful clinical translation of 3D‐printed corneal substitutes relies on the interplay between the bioink properties, cellular component, and the fabrication process. These factors influence the critical properties of the construct, including optical transparency, mechanical stability, suture retention, that ultimately govern long‐term stromal ...

VIM-Based Dynamic Sparse Grid Approach to Partial Differential Equations

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2014
Combining the variational iteration method (VIM) with the sparse grid theory, a dynamic sparse grid approach for nonlinear PDEs is proposed in this paper. In this method, a multilevel interpolation operator is constructed based on the sparse grids theory

Directional Latent Hybridization: Beyond Random Noise in Physics‐Informed Generative Inverse Design of Nonlinear Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A physics‐informed generative framework introduces Directional Latent Hybridization (DLH) for the deterministic inverse design of nonlinear metamaterials. By hybridizing dominant traits from parent geometries in the latent space, DLH overcomes the instabilities of stochastic models to ensure high structural precision at high densities.

Improving the Robustness of Visual Teach‐and‐Repeat Navigation Using Drift Error Correction and Event‐Based Vision for Low‐Light Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.

The Sparse Grids Matlab kit -- a Matlab implementation of sparse grids for high-dimensional function approximation and uncertainty quantification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
The Sparse Grids Matlab Kit provides a Matlab implementation of sparse grids, and can be used for approximating high-dimensional functions and, in particular, for surrogate-model-based uncertainty quantification. It is lightweight, high-level and easy to

Downscaling top-down CO2 emissions and sinks in China empowered by hybrid training

open access: yesnpj Climate and Atmospheric Science
Atmospheric CO2-based top-down approaches enable objective evaluation of climate mitigation efforts but face dual constraints: sparse monitoring limits spatial resolution, while emission heterogeneity hampers downscaling. To enhance downscaling accuracy,

Hierarchical Stratification for Spatial Sampling and Digital Mapping of Soil Attributes

open access: yesAgriEngineering
This study assessed whether stratifying agricultural areas into macro- and micro-variability regions allows targeted sampling to better capture soil attribute variability, thus improving digital soil maps compared to regular grid sampling.
