Signal Processing for Microwave Array Imaging: TDC and Sparse Recovery

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2012
Unlike 1-D and 2-D microwave images, 3-D microwave image behaves typical sparsity. Consequently, sparse recovery technique can be used for 3-D microwave signal processing. Three popular signal processing techniques, the time-domain correlation method (TDC), pseudo-inverse method (PI), and compressed sensing method (CS), are discussed in this paper.

Three-Dimensional Sparse Turntable Microwave Imaging Based on Compressive Sensing

IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2015
In this letter, we propose a fast reconstruction algorithm for 3-D turntable microwave imaging from sparse measurements. A conventional Fourier-transform-based 3-D microwave imaging method collects data over densely azimuth–elevation samples and needs a large amount of data storage and long collection time.

Study on sparse microwave imaging

Proceedings of 2011 IEEE CIE International Conference on Radar, 2011
Sparse signal processing is introduced to microwave imaging technology, which forms a new theory, new system and new methodology in microwave imaging. Defined as sparse microwave imaging, it means that by the sparse domain representation of the observed object, the sparse microwave signal is acquired by sparse sampling in space or time domain.

Autofocus of sparse microwave imaging radar based on phase recovery

2013 IEEE International Conference on Signal Processing, Communication and Computing (ICSPCC 2013), 2013
Sparse microwave imaging radar is a newly developed concept of microwave imaging, which introduces the sparse signal processing theory to traditional microwave imaging. As a combination of sparse signal processing theory and microwave imaging, the sparse microwave imaging is attracting people's interest for its several potential advantages including ...

Higher Order Sparse Microwave Imaging of PEC Scatterers

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2016
In this paper, we present an innovative algorithm for sparse imaging of perfect electric conducting (PEC) targets. The algorithm is based on higher order sources or multipoles, rather than zero-order ones as in the standard sparse imaging. We demonstrate that, due to the directivity of higher order sources, the imaging capabilities of the algorithm are

A Microwave Coincidence Imaging Method for Complex Target Based on Sparse Representation

2020 9th Asia-Pacific Conference on Antennas and Propagation (APCAP), 2020
Microwave coincidence imaging (MCI) has great potential in super-resolution imaging realms, which has achieved a superior performance for sparse targets. However, its performance for complex target will degrade severely due to the weak sparsity. In this paper, the sparse representation method is applied to MCI and a reconstruction-based imaging method ...

Implementation of GPU-based Iterative Shrinkage-thresholding Algorithm in sparse microwave imaging

2012 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2012
In this paper, we present the implementation of Iterative Shrinkage-thresholding Algorithm (ISTA) based on Graphic processing unit (GPU) parallel computation for sparse microwave imaging. First we introduce the theory of sparse microwave imaging and the mathematical model of Lq-norm regularization.

Experimental results and analysis of sparse microwave imaging from spaceborne radar raw data

Science China Information Sciences, 2012
Sparse microwave imaging is a novel radar framework aiming to bring revolutions to the microwave imaging according to the theory of sparse signal processing. As compressive sensing (CS) is introduced to synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging in recent years, the current SAR sparse imaging methods have shown their advantages over the traditional matched

Microwave imaging of dielectric targets using higher-order sparse processing

2017 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation & USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2017
We consider the application of multipole based dictionaries, used in the sparse processing framework, for microwave imaging of complex-shaped dielectric targets. We investigate the influence of different subarray configurations on the imaging accuracy. In addition, we examine the images obtained using multipoles of different orders from the prospective
