Joint Local Block Grouping with Noise-Adjusted Principal Component Analysis for Hyperspectral Remote-Sensing Imagery Sparse Unmixing

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2019
Spatial regularized sparse unmixing has been proved as an effective spectral unmixing technique, combining spatial information and standard spectral signatures known in advance into the traditional spectral unmixing model in the form of sparse regression.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Robust Principal Component Analysis? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper is about a curious phenomenon. Suppose we have a data matrix, which is the superposition of a low-rank component and a sparse component. Can we recover each component individually?

Natural Products as Geroprotective Modulators in Diabetic Nephropathy: A Mechanistic Framework Integrating Aging Hallmarks and the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 Axis

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Natural products target the aging kidney in diabetic nephropathy by restoring the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 axis, reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, fibrosis, and cellular senescence while enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis and antioxidant defenses.

Sparse sampling‐based microwave 3D imaging using interferometry and frequency‐domain principal component analysis

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar & Navigation, 2017
Microwave radar 3D imaging with high resolution generally requires a great number of samples. The authors aim at accurate reconstruction of microwave radar images while significantly reducing the required number of samples.

Infrared Non-Destructive Testing via Semi-Nonnegative Matrix Factorization

open access: yesProceedings, 2019
Detection of subsurface defects is undeniably a growing subfield of infrared non-destructive testing (IR-NDT). There are many algorithms used for this purpose, where non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) is considered to be an interesting alternative ...

Infrared Dim Small Target Detection Based on Nonconvex Constraint with L1–L2 Norm and Total Variation

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
Infrared dim small target detection has received a lot of attention, because it is a crucial component of the IR search and track systems (IRST). The robust principal component analysis (RPCA) is a common detection framework, which works with poor ...

Glymphatic Dysfunction Reflects Post‐Concussion Symptoms: Changes Within 1 Month and After 3 Months

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) may alter glymphatic function; however, its progression and variability remain obscure. This study examined glymphatic function following mTBI within 1 month and after 3 months post‐injury to determine whether variations in glymphatic function are associated with post‐traumatic symptom severity ...
