This study shows that lizard osteoderm capping tissue is a hyper‐mineralized hydroxyapatite layer consistently covering the superficial osteoderm surface in those species studied here, yet it varies greatly in morphology, nanostructure, and mechanical performance across species.

Multi-Layer Sparse Representation for Weighted LBP-Patches Based Facial Expression Recognition
In this paper, a novel facial expression recognition method based on sparse representation is proposed. Most contemporary facial expression recognition systems suffer from limited ability to handle image nuisances such as low resolution and noise ...

Ultrathin AlOxHy interlayers between aluminum films and polymer substrates significantly improve electro‐mechanical properties of flexible thin film systems. By precisely controlling interlayer thickness using atomic layer deposition, this study identifies an optimal interlayer thickness of 5–10 nm that enhances ductility and delays cracking.

Mapping Nanoscale Buckling in Atomically Thin Cr2Ge2Te6
Atomic‐resolution STEM is used to resolve nanoscale buckling in monolayer Cr2Ge2Te₆. A noise‐robust image analysis reconstructs three‐dimensional lattice distortions from single plan‐view images, revealing pronounced defect‐driven nm‐scale out‐of‐plane buckling.

Joint Image Deblurring and Matching with Blurred Invariant-Based Sparse Representation Prior
Image matching is important for vision-based navigation. However, most image matching approaches do not consider the degradation of the real world, such as image blur; thus, the performance of image matching often decreases greatly. Recent methods try to

Unveiling Multidimensional Physicochemical Design Principles for Tissue Processing Hydrogels
This study establishes a materials‐based design framework for polymer hydrogels in tissue clearing, linking physicochemical properties to performance in tissue processing, labeling, and imaging. By analyzing rheology, swelling, porosity, antibody diffusion, mechanical performance, and thermochemical stability across platforms, this work provides a ...
