Spatial Behavior for Nonlinear Heat Equations

Mathematical Models and Methods in Applied Sciences, 1997
In this paper we investigate spatial decay and growth estimates for the solutions of the nonlinear heat equation in a three-dimensional cylinder with homogeneous Dirichlet conditions prescribed on the lateral surface for all time. We derive two Phragmen–Lindelöf type growth–decay estimates. Two methods are used in our approximation.

Spatial Factors and the Behavior of Nonhuman Primates

Folia Primatologica, 1972
Spatial factors in the environment and their influence on the behavior of nonhuman primates are reviewed. Intragroup spacing is discussed in terms of interindividual distance and spatial patterning. Home range versus territorial intergroup spacing mechanisms are described, and the role of ‘cover’ in determining interindividual distance and ...

A feature set for spatial behavior characterization

Proceedings of the 26th ACM SIGSPATIAL International Conference on Advances in Geographic Information Systems, 2018
Collection of GPS data is becoming a standard experimental method for studies ranging from public health interventions to studying the browsing behavior of large non-human mammals. However, the millions of records collected in these studies do not lend themselves to traditional geographic analysis.

Sympathetic sprouting and recovery of a spatial behavior

Experimental Neurology, 1983
After lesions of the medial septum, peripheral sympathetic fibers from the superior cervical ganglion appear in the hippocampal formation. To assess the functional significance of this neuronal rearrangement, we analyzed behavior on a spatial/memory task sensitive to hippocampal dysfunction, the radial eight-arm maze.

Spatial Social Behavior in Second Life

2007
We have developed software bots that inhabit the popular online social environment SecondLife (SL). Our bots can wander around, collect data, engage in simple interactions, and carry out simple automated experiments. In this paper we use our bots to study spatial social behavior.

Spatial prices, search behavior and location

The Annals of Regional Science, 2008
This paper presents a model that links spatial prices with search behavior and location. Consumers are assumed to search for a product at the lowest overall costs where suppliers are spatially distributed. The expected result of this “shopping decision” is linked with a longer term “quantity decision” relating the customer’s location via bid prices for

Interpretation of Intentional Behavior in Spatial Partonomies

2003
Information services that are accessed by mobile computers need to compensate the limited potential for direct interaction by some mechanism which analyzes the intentions of the user. Location-aware information services, for instance, take the decision about what is relevant to the user on ground of information about the user's spatial location.

Industrial Location Behavior and Spatial Evolution

The Journal of Industrial Economics, 1977
THE choice of a location for production is one of the most important long-run decisions that a manufacturing firm must make. The mainstream of thought dealing with this choice of location problem has evolved from the work of Weber [28]. It includes empirical work by 0. Lindberg [i6], Isard and Cumberland [I31, and Kennelly ['51.
