Spatial Behavior for Nonlinear Heat Equations

Mathematical Models and Methods in Applied Sciences, 1997
In this paper we investigate spatial decay and growth estimates for the solutions of the nonlinear heat equation in a three-dimensional cylinder with homogeneous Dirichlet conditions prescribed on the lateral surface for all time. We derive two Phragmen–Lindelöf type growth–decay estimates. Two methods are used in our approximation.

Pricing with Cookies: Behavior-Based Price Discrimination and Spatial Competition

Management Sciences, 2017
We study a two-period model of spatial competition with two symmetric firms where firms learn customers’ preferences from the first-period purchase, which they use for personalized pricing in the second period.

Spatial prices, search behavior and location

The Annals of Regional Science, 2008
This paper presents a model that links spatial prices with search behavior and location. Consumers are assumed to search for a product at the lowest overall costs where suppliers are spatially distributed. The expected result of this “shopping decision” is linked with a longer term “quantity decision” relating the customer’s location via bid prices for

Spatial ontologies for tactical behaviors

SPIE Proceedings, 2008
We address spatial ontologies for the areas of operations of tactical behaviors carried out by unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs). An ontology is a conceptualization of a domain and provides a common vocabulary for automated applications in the domain of interest. Ontological concepts are typically qualitative yet are rigorously defined.

Industrial Location Behavior and Spatial Evolution

The Journal of Industrial Economics, 1977
THE choice of a location for production is one of the most important long-run decisions that a manufacturing firm must make. The mainstream of thought dealing with this choice of location problem has evolved from the work of Weber [28]. It includes empirical work by 0. Lindberg [i6], Isard and Cumberland [I31, and Kennelly ['51.

Unveiling spatial and non-spatial aspects of neglect in everyday behavior

Cortex
HBS, a right-handed woman, experienced multiple ischemic strokes following aneurysm clipping surgery in the posterior cerebral artery territory. Early assessments revealed left-sided spatial neglect and homonymous hemianopia. After rehabilitation, she achieved normal performance on neglect tests and was subsequently discharged home, where she resided ...

HUMAN BEHAVIOR IN SPATIAL ANALYSIS

Urban Geography, 1993
In the early years of the quantitative revolution in geography, the questions asked were dominantly about spatial regularities in patterns of events. In the 1960s, a subgroup turned their focus on the decisions of individuals and organizations in their spatial context.

Spatial Reasoning About Mechanical Behaviors

Volume 4: 13th International Conference on Design Theory and Methodology, 2001
Abstract We describe an approach that uses causal reasoning and geometric reasoning to construct explanations for the purposes of the geometric features on the parts of a mechanical device. To identify the purpose of a feature, the device is simulated with and without the feature.

Everyday Spatial Behavioral Questionnaire 11 Component Model

Applied Neuropsychology: Adult, 2023
The present work builds on prior research to develop the Everyday Spatial Behavioral Questionnaire (ESBQ or EBQ), a measure of self-reported difficulty in performing familiar activities that involve spatial thinking. A principal component analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were employed to identify reliable categories of everyday spatial ...
