Modelling the Requirements and Benefits of Mosquito Control Interventions in the Presence of Mosquito Dispersal [PDF]
Vector control methods are widely used as a means to control malaria, however, the role of spatial arrangement when deploying these interventions is not well known.

Measuring galaxy segregation using the mark connection function [PDF]
(abridged) The clustering properties of galaxies belonging to different luminosity ranges or having different morphological types are different. These characteristics or `marks' permit to understand the galaxy catalogs that carry all this information as ...

Border analysis for spatial clusters [PDF]
The spatial scan statistic is widely used by public health professionals in the detection of spatial clusters in inhomogeneous point process. The most popular version of the spatial scan statistic uses a circular-shaped scanning window. Several other variants, using other parametric or non-parametric shapes, are also available.

Spatial multiresolution cluster detection method [PDF]
A novel multi-resolution cluster detection (MCD) method is proposed to identify irregularly shaped clusters in space. Multi-scale test statistic on a single cell is derived based on likelihood ratio statistic for Bernoulli sequence, Poisson sequence and Normal sequence. A neighborhood variability measure is defined to select the optimal test threshold.

Protostellar clusters in intermediate-mass (IM) star forming regions [PDF]
The transition between the low density groups of T Tauri stars and the high density clusters around massive stars occurs in the intermediate-mass (IM) range (M$_*$$\sim$2--8 M$_\odot$).

Managing distance and covariate information with point-based clustering
Background Geographic perspectives of disease and the human condition often involve point-based observations and questions of clustering or dispersion within a spatial context. These problems involve a finite set of point observations and are constrained

Can a galaxy redshift survey measure dark energy clustering? [PDF]
(abridged) A wide-field galaxy redshift survey allows one to probe galaxy clustering at largest spatial scales, which carries an invaluable information on horizon-scale physics complementarily to the cosmic microwave background (CMB).
