k-nearest neighbors prediction and classification for spatial data
We propose a nonparametric predictor and a supervised classification based on the regression function estimate of a spatial real variable using k-nearest neighbors method (k-NN). Under some assumptions, we establish almost complete or sure convergence of

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Cities are facing dramatic challenges due to population growth and the massive development of high-rises and complex structures, both above and below the ground surface. Decision-makers require access to an efficient land and property information system,

Spatial Disaggregation of Agricultural Production Data [PDF]
In this paper we develop a dynamic data-consistent way for estimating agricultural land use choices at a disaggregate level (district-level), using more aggregate data (regional-level). The disaggregation procedure requires two steps.

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

Image-to-Point Cloud Registration using Camera Motion Generation and Monocular Depth Estimation [PDF]
Image-to-point cloud (I2P) registration plays a vital role in applications requiring accurate spatial alignment between 2D images and their corresponding 3D point clouds.

Modelling Spatial Autocorrelation in Spatial Interaction Data
Spatial interaction models of the gravity type are widely used to model origindestination flows. They draw attention to three types of variables to explain variation in spatial interactions across geographic space: variables that characterise an origin region of a flow, variables that characterise a destination region of a flow, and finally ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Impact of Political Economy on Land Administration Reform
Population growth, urbanization and climate change are all factors that have made it increasingly difficult for governments to manage, allocate and permit the development and use of the finite land resource that is available in any society.
